The article for this month’s resources comes from Child Care Information Exchange September/October 2021 issue.  Developing Empathy to Promote Equity in Early Childhood Settings, by Lea Ann Christenson, Leah S. Muccio, and Kevin McGowan.  In thinking about the beginning of the school year for so many of us, many of the professional development sessions I have been presenting focus on building beloved community.  Certainly one of the pieces of creating community is growing and living empathy in our programs.  This article gives some basic ideas and thinking about ways to encourage empathy.  I do a presentation that can be offered bilingually on kindness and empathy in a diverse world.  Contact me for further information.
