The article for this month’s resources comes from Teaching Young Children Vol.6 No. 2. I was using this article recently with a school where the children wanted to explore information around Dinosaurs—a popular yet complicated topic as it is a challenge to create REAL experiences around a creature that does not exist any longer!! This classroom of Ann and Gisela really incorporated a variety of experiences that were discussed and co-led by the children’s thinking. Ending with the Museum was amazing for all the other classes to come and join in. I think of Gisela often as she passed away not much longer after this article was finally published. I think often also about doing what’s best, joyful and meaningful in our work with children for now.
