My book recommendation for this quarter is a relatively new book published by Child Care Information Exchange, Illumination Care: The Pedagogy and Practice of Care in Early Childhood Communities, by Carol Garboden Murray (who I was able to participate in a seminar with) shares with us an exploration of caregiving as a “vital component of education and child development and a crucial building block of human community and society”. Though a longer book, it is rich with thinking and ideas that are important particularly as we continue to define what is important in our field.
